DESTINY LESSONS FROM THE PRINCE OF DREAMS, Lisa
Arroyo
Destiny is a journey with
a final destination. It begins with a vision or a prophetic word
but ends with the manifestation of the thing that God has
promised.
SCRIPTURE STUDY: Genesis
37; 39-41
Here are some important
lessons we should learn from Joseph about destiny.
He was called by God.
Usually happens in our comfort zone, while we’re still immature and
unskilled.
Pride
Disallowed. There are many factors when considering
destiny but Joseph’s was pride. Pride causes us to not see or
understand the true meaning of God’s call clearly.
Season of purging and pruning. The pit experience creates the necessary purging and pruning that shapes us into the vessel that God intends for us to be. The season may cause you to doubt the vision and your call. But it’s in this isolation that God deals with us our issues and sins. Praise will sustain you in this season but it will not keep you from it. You must endure it with faith.
Season of spiritual growth and character development. Temporary elevation is preparation for the destiny of delegated authority. Joseph was given favor in Potiphar’s house. But, he was thrown into prison for more purging and pruning.
Humility.
Joseph’s prison experience was where began exercising the gift that
would lead him to destiny. Humility purifies and sharpens our
gifts.
Elevation
& Manifestation. When Joseph acquired a true
servant's heart he was elevated and then released to enter into the
fulfillment of his prophetic destiny.
There is a process we all
must go through in order to arrive at our place of destiny but
there is a great tragedy happening in Christianity today. The
church and by this I mean the "local church" is not helping the
people perfect their gifts or releasing them into their
calling.
God is no respecter of
persons. He used Noah, Moses, David, Solomon, Esther,
Deborah, Mary , Peter, John and Paul;
the list goes and on. He desires
to and will use you greatly.
He created you for this
time, this generation and you should not look to the biblical
figures to validate the workings of God in your life. God has a
unique plan for each of us. This is the beauty of the prophet and
the gift of prophecy; it speaks to us individually and uniquely
about our purpose and destiny.
