And Elisha said unto her, what shall I do for thee? Tell
me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath
not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. 2 Kings
4:2
Elisha, the prophet asked the woman in need: “What do you have in
your house?” The solution did not come out of another house. The
solution to her problem was in her house all the while.
Too often we look to other people’s houses for our solution, while the answer is closer than we imagined.“House”, is symbolic for: yourself, your own life.
The prophet revealed an important fact to the woman. He presented
her with the truth that the solution to her need starts with her
and it is present within her. Her real problem was that she
did not know this. She did not recognize the potential within
herself. The prophet pointed her focus to the potential that was
within her because that’s what prophets do. The prophet will reveal
to you and have you to focus on what you’ve got in your house.
Your breakthrough starts with you. What is it that you have in your
house? There is great potential in your very being.
“Potential” is untapped power, power that is yet to be released.
The prophetic word/instruction had set the process of
provision in motion for the widow.
There is power in the prophetic word, which is not of this
earth. This was the word: “Get vessels and fill them with
oil”.
She looked at the pot of oil in her house every day. It was an
ordinary pot of oil. However, the prophetic word gave this
pot of oil another dimension. The prophetic word gave the everyday
lunch of a little boy another dimension and thousands were fed. The
prophetic word gave the fish net of Peter another dimension and the
catch was great. The prophetic word speaks to the everyday things
in your life and gives them another dimension.
The prophetic word turns your ordinary life into an extraordinary life. You need the prophetic in your life. In it you will discover who you are and the potential that is within you
